So, IDK how to make a new "forum" / "thread" / "subject" or whatever they're called underneath the whole "Non-HHC Related" section, so I guess this'll go in the "School" section even though it has nothing to do with school or schoolloop being down (It's up by the way...last I checked... I posted another post in the "Christmas Caroling" section too, BTW).
But, yeah. It's Winter Break right now, and Christmas has past.
A lot of movies came out on Christmas, and I've yet to see them all (I highly doubt that I will see them all anyways, but there are a few that I REALLY want to see...).
But, yeah... So, yesterday (12/26), I saw "Slumdog Millionaire" with one of my uncles and Scruffy. It was rated R (IDK why though...it's not that bad...not a lot of swear words...not much blood/violence either... I assume it's because of all the "bad" influences...gangs...drugs...prostitution, etc.). But...yeah. It was basically about some Indian guy that was on the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." It's supposedly based on the book Q & A , but I've never read it, so IDK...
I actually liked it and it was pretty good, so I'd recommend seeing it and all that snazzy stuff. It was basically about some guy and how he knew all the answers on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." Since it's in India and all that, he got arrested because no one had ever made it past the question for 600 rupees, so people thought that he cheated. It shows him being questioned (I guess that could be a reason for the Rated R-ness...) and there are a lot of "flashbacks" to his childhood and how he knew the answers. It's pretty interesting how they did it.
It's mostly in English, there are only a few subtitles to read. I think that they did the subtitles interestingly. Instead of the usual subtitles all being on the bottom, the few times that they actually have them speaking a different language than English, they put the subtitles in different places, so I'd recommend NOT sitting in the front like we did. It was kinda difficult keeping track of where the subtitles popped up, the few times they spoke Indian(?) Hindu(???) IDK... So, yeah. Do NOT sit in the VERY FRONT or else your neck will hurt and you might miss a few subs.
But, yeah...Did anyone see any good movies??? "The Curious Case of Benjamin..." IDK what it's called...something like that... It looks pretty interesting... "Bedtime Stories" ??? "Despairo(sp?)" ??? Any other random movies???
...Okay...if you feel like it, Thuy-Anh, you can even talk about Twilight... *sigh* ...Still haven't seen it...Don't know if I should...

I want to see Valkyrie. Except for Tom Cruise's terrible acting in it, it supposed to be very good. The Curious Case of Benjamin Some-tin also looks pretty good. Can people exalt me btw so I can become all powerful and slap people with chickens? Hey, whacha mean I'm weird...where did that come from? How wude...

Oh my goodness, I LOVED Slumdog Millionaire. So much. I would say it's rated R because of the torture (haha... "questioning"... nice way to put it, Brenda) and I guess because of all the intense parts they show in the slums. Overall it's more on the happy side than the depressing side, though. At least, at the end. Trust me, you guys have to see it.

Well geez... thanks a lot.
So, yeah. I "found out" that the movie's called "The Curious Case of Benjamin BUTTON" ...I think that everything's spelled right, but...IDK...there are a lot of different way to spell names...
And, yes! Slumdog Millionaire was just plain "awesomer!!!" (IDK what it's "awesomer" than...).
My aunt took me to see another movie last night, but since it was kinda late (5 something), there wasn't much on... (didn't want to wait until 7...). So, we ended up seeing Bedtime Stories. I guess it was pretty good... well... it was okay. It leaves a lot of questions unanswered though. I guess it had it's moments of comedy. My cousins really wanted to see it, but they're already back in LA. (they're, I believe, in the 1st[girl] and 4th[boy] grade...)
...Scruffy and Kelly both saw Bolt without me... *tear* Scruffy went with her "college friends" and saw it in 3D, and Kelly saw it with her family... *tear* Wanted to go see that, but since it's so old, it's not showing often... T.T

I'd see Bolt with you, Brenda! My mom took my cousins to see it, but I had stupid homework to do. Grrrr... The Scarlet Letter is EVIL. (And predictable... anyone else realize who the father was at, like, 20 pages in? Kinda obvious.)

Oh, and by the way, shouldn't we have a forum for random discussion? It seems to be leaking onto the other forums here.

What's this? And here I was thinking that EVERYTHING, this whole forum, was for "random discussion..." huh... guess I was wrong...
YES!!! Let's go see Bolt...although I doubt it's showing much anymore since it's so old... might have to wait for the movie to come out... And then we could make it an HH "party." We'll bring quote, random, unquote movies and take votes as to what to watch, and we'll, of course, watch Bolt first. Anyone got a giant TV?
I'm only on the sixth chapter of The Scarlet Letter, but YES, I do think that it's incredibly predictable. I'm not 100% sure that my predictions are correct, but I'm, like, at least 90% sure, and if I'm wrong, that'll be a HUGE shock...
Technically, the 20 pages in is still the introduction, but I get what you're saying. It is REALLY predictable. There's a lot of "flowery" language used too. Too much descriptions of everything...but at least it's still readable. I've no problem reading it like I have had for other things. So far I'm actually still reading EVER word. I've yet to start "skimming" it. What kind of person writes a 34 page introduction anyways?
...hey, look... We're "on topic" ...technically??? We're discussing homework, but we're in the "Movies" section... ???

I just saw "The Happening". It was quite good...and kinda interesting. Had modern political relevance in a way. Bit violent at times...involves gunshot wounds, people being eaten by tigers, hung people, people jumping from buildings, people stapping themselves in the throat, people being run over by lawnmowers, and people hitting themselves into walls...(The whole movie is not this, I just encapsilated most of the violent parts at once ). I really liked the ending part (last like 4 minutes). Had a really good kinda cliffhanger thing. Not a crappy one that cuts you off in the middle of the plot; its one that resolves the main conflict, but leaves something interesting to think about at the end. You should see it...late at night...all alone...with the lights off...with no connection to the outside world......*creepy stare*

Oh...well... I saw "The Happening" quite a while ago. I saw it with my sister and my uncle. I must say, it was quite weird. I guess I missed my chance to go and and watch it "late at night...all alone...with the lights off...with no connection to the outside world" ...although I guess we did see it late at night...
It was kinda disturbing seeing people do suicide without batting an eye or anything. It freaked Scruffy out when the guy laid down in front of the lawn mower though...
I guess it was okay...Don't quite remember how it ends...doesn't "The Happening" just spread to France or something?
I saw "The Day the Earth Stood Still" a long whiles ago, just "forgot" to mention it. I guess it was okay and interesting. Kinda predictable...heard it's a remake, but I've never seen the original, so I don't really care... It was interesting, but with all things that have "The end of the world" (for humanity), it's obvious as to how the movie will end... I liked the actors, they did quite well in my opinion. Some of the characters were annoying and I disliked them, but they changed and became better people in the end, which, I guess, is all that really matters...
Heard that "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is a 3 hour long movie... Heard it was okay, but some scenes could have been cut... Still have yet to have seen it... 3 hours is a long time though...

I saw Milk yesterday! It was really good. And not actually too graphic. Maybe a little sad, for the obvious reason. Anyway, go see it!

I watched "Eagle Eye" yesterday on DVD...again...
Well...not the whole thing 'cuz I got tired and went to bed and have already seen the ending. But, yeah. If you haven't heard already on schoolloop. I liked it. "Action packed" kinda thing. I like the actors/actresses, although IDK their REAL names...
I saw Bolt too... *tear* ...sorry Julia. T.T We can still see it together. I'd see it again with you. It was cute. Saw it on Saturday, 'cuz my aunt wanted to go see a movie before school started (teacher) and it was the only thing that was showing at the right time, other than Bedtime Stories" since we've already seen it...
We should have either a "movie party" or a group trip to the movies...
